Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk/Business Office Assistant is an integral part of the daily operations of the Business Office. Cross training in all areas of the office, this role provides full administrative support to the Accounting Department 

Essential Responsibilities

Bookkeeping tasks:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Year-end balance sheet Reconciliations
  • Audit preparation
  • Reconcile online credit card expense reports
  • Maintain the Expense Report Management System

Payroll tasks:

  • Cross train in payroll to perform duties of Payroll Specialist during absences 

Human Resources tasks:

  • Maintain employee benefit deductions
  • Reconcile and pay employee benefit statements
  • Assist with employee benefit questions 

Clerical tasks:

  • Data entry
  • Filing
  • Mail sorting
  • Other tasks as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years related office experience
  • Strong MS EXCEL knowledge
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, basic financial statement elements, 10-key, and computer skills desired
  • Knowledge of employee benefit reconciliation

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
