Job Summary

Prescott College seeks to hire diverse, teacher-scholars to envision and teach disciplinary and interdisciplinary courses – which occur in-person, online or in field or community-based settings – across our bachelors, masters, and doctoral programs. Guided by the motto “For the Liberal Arts, the Environment and Social Justice” and driven by a mission that centers experiential learning within an interdisciplinary curriculum, Prescott College is a small private, nonprofit liberal arts university offering on-campus and distance learning programs blending liberal learning and professional preparation.

A number of full-time and part-time positions will be available as needed within and between academic departments at Prescott College including Adventure Education, Education, Environmental Studies, Critical Psychology and Human Development, Global Studies, as well as Arts and Humanities.  We seek Associate Faculty who can cross boundaries between departments, however, and help students build the academic knowledge, practical abilities, and positive dispositions to collaborate with diverse communities for just and sustainable solutions to international and global realities such as Climate change, and cultural power relations, educational access, quality and transformation with changing demographics, as well as creative expression and communication in the modern age.  As an ideal Associate Faculty candidate, you are drawn to Prescott College’s motto and mission, you are student-centered and constantly exploring how to better support the success of diverse learners.  You enjoy working closely with colleagues to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. Associate Faculty positions serving on campus undergraduate students are located at Prescott College’s main campus in the small town of Prescott in the central highlands of Arizona at an elevation of about 5000 feet above sea level. Surrounded by national forests with amazing trail systems and blessed with wonderful weather year-round, Prescott is a beautiful place to live and learn.  Associate Faculty positions serving distance students through online courses may be located just about anywhere.  Prescott operates an outreach and support center in Tucson, Arizona, that houses nationally recognized, credit-bearing Americorps and Vista programs as well as dual enrollment offerings in Hispanic serving high schools. Long-running study abroad programming includes the Kino Bay Center for Cultural and Ecological Studies in Mexico and the Maasai Community Partnership in Kenya. Among many other partnerships, Prescott College is a member of the Consortium for Innovative Environments in Learning ( ) and the Ecoleague ( ).
